Camping—Easter 2010

The campers seemed to have the seasons mixed up this year, some of them thought it was our Guy Fawkes night paddle

This year was one of the wettest Easters for many years, the river was so full of water that the rapids were washed out and had no spots to play on. We did have a lovely paddle from Kerne Bridge back to the campsite on the Sunday and took some nice walks through the woods during the weekend.

Our Easter weekend was spent at Biblins near Ross on Wye

Biblins campsite is situated in the beautiful Wye Valley along a mile of riverside meadows four miles north of Monmouth, close to the famous Symonds Yat rapids. This location makes it one of the best places in Southern Britain for young people to enjoy outdoor education in spectacular scenery. For the safety of the young people use is restricted to pre-booked youth groups and qualified staff. Its seclusion in the depths of the Wye Gorge gives Biblins a very special “backwoods” feel. The site is situated in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by the woodland of the Wye Gorge Site of Special Scientific Interest.
