Text Box: Text Box: RiverCare Project.
We have teamed up with Anglia Waters RiverCare project. This project will help to improve the condition of the river which we use for most of our paddling. We have adopted the stretch of the River Wensum from Sculthorpe Mill through Fakenham and onto Great Ryburgh road bridge. This means we have agreed to do our best to help keep the river free from rubbish.
Around 20 club members took to the water on our Boxing Day outing. The weather was very kind to us this year with no wind and a nice blue sky we set off from Fakenham kitted out with warm hats and gloves. This years paddle incorporated our Rivercare clean up. With our litter pickers and rubber gloves we managed to collect three binbags of rubbish plus a large fire extinguisher. We had a lovely trip and managed to get three quarters of the way up to Sculthorpe Mill. Well done to all paddlers.

We hope this will be an educational project as well as improving our environment. We will put a report onto the RiverCare website which you can view at rivercare.org.uk

There will be some more RiverCare trips later in the year.
